We’re headed to Zambia in 2026!
The 14th edition of the world’s leading summit on human rights in the digital age, will take place in Lusaka, Zambia and online, from Tuesday, May 5 to Friday, May 8, 2026.
We’re incredibly excited to bring back RightsCon to the African continent since RightsCon Tunis in 2019, and to host our first-ever summit in Southern Africa!
Our return to Africa carries deep significance. It was a commitment we made after RightsCon Costa Rica in 2023, to bring RightsCon to the continent, and spotlight the strength, resilience, and global significance of Africa’s digital rights community.
Each year, RightsCon convenes business leaders, policymakers, general counsels, government representatives, technologists, academics, journalists, and human rights advocates from around the world to tackle pressing issues at the intersection of human rights and technology. In engaging fireside chats, hands-on workshops, strategic roundtables, private meetings, and a lively exhibition space, RightsCon is where a global movement comes together to build strategies and drive forward change toward a more free, open, and connected digital world.
Over the past 14 years, RightsCon has rotated to key hubs around the world, including Taipei, San José, Tunis, Toronto, Brussels, Rio de Janeiro, Manila, and San Francisco, and grown, both in size and in purpose to meet the evolving needs of the digital rights community.
